"Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self fulfilling prophecy." - Brian Tracy.

Let's be clear: being in a good frame of mind won't change whether someone picks up the phone or not. But it will change how you interact with those who do. And if you've been getting increasingly dejected and frustrated with each voicemailed call, there's no way the next prospect who answers will be getting you at the best you can be.

This is besause our mindset can drip into every interaction. Our tone of voice, the words we use, what we say with them, and non-verbal cues can all tank as our mindset does. But the right mindset can keep you in the right place, so you're ready when you reach that next opportunity.

This week, rather than thinking 'great, another voicemail,' try 'great, another voicemail closer to a conversation.' It's a self-fulfilling prophecy for success.

[00:00:00] Luigi Prestinenzi: Welcome to Mindset Monday by the Sales IQ Podcast. I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi, and I'm here to help you be the best you can be. Everyone has the potential to be the best version of themselves they can be. Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on that awesomeness that is sitting dormant inside of you. This podcast is about helping you unlock that potential by focusing on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.

Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self fulfilling prophecy. That's a quote by Brian Tracy. And why is that my quote for this week? Because I want to talk about the. Of that self-fulfilling prophecy. I mean, why does it have an impact? Why does it impact us? And the reality is our perception of things and the way in which we think about things and go into certain situations can ultimately control.

That particular situation. And sometimes whether we like it or not, we can actually go into things with a negative mindset. We can actually start the day thinking, you know, I've had a pretty tough, last couple of days. I've been calling a whole lot of people have people haven't been answering. It's going to be another day of voicemail.

That's going to be another day of poor contact rate. And what do we do? We created. That particular barrier and the whole purpose of this week's episode, it's about removing the barriers that you can control, because there are a whole lot of barriers out there that you simply can't control. There are a whole lot of barriers out there that you're going to encounter that other people are putting there, but there are certain barriers that you're creating for yourself.

And before you can even focus on working through other people's barriers, And other barriers that we might not be able to control. We first got to remove the barriers that we can control. The very first one is that whole premise of the self fulfilling prophecy. And even if we have a negative experience in a particular sales meeting with a particular.

It doesn't necessarily mean the whole process is going to go south. We've got to change and flip the way we look at things. And that is my message for this week. It's if you go into a certain situation with a certain view, you're going to. Potentially determined that outcome with the way that you're looking at it with your mindset and we have to be flipping it.

And one of the things, the tactics I want you to really use this week is re-anchoring the way you think about things. Think about flipping the narrative from, yeah, I've just had, you know, 15 people not answer the call to, you know what, I'm one step closer to somebody answering a call. This is pretty basic stuff.

Right. But it's have to remind ourselves because in a world where we're conducting outreach, And the data shows us that it takes more calls to connect to our buyers, but the data also shows us that more people are ignoring the emails that you send. So the more outreach you conduct, the luckier you're going to get now, some might argue, hang on, but we don't need to do average anymore.

We have the world of inbound and I'm sorry to burst the bubble, but globally, the results, uh, burden. Total conversion on impound is very low. That's why you need to make sure you're controlling your own destiny by having a combination of outbound and inbound opportunities, flooding your funnel so that you never have to worry about not reaching your target.

But before you can do that before you can even focus about looking at your target, you need to focus on the morning. You need to focus on rethinking the way you look at certain situations so that you're not creating that barrier for yourself, because remember the biggest barrier you will never overcome is the one you haven't overcome yourself and you need to remove those barriers.

And that is my message. And that is a tactic I want you to employ this week. Flip the way you look at something and reanchor your thinking around it. Change your expectations so that you can change the future realities that will occur. Now, if this is a message that's resonated for you or someone, you know, you're at please like write and share these content.

I do these to help you be the very best sales professional you can be.
