Being positive and staying that way takes a lot of effort. Sometimes we end up having negative thoughts...sometimes, regardless of how much effort we put in, we don't meet the outcomes we work so hard trying to achieve. The emotional ride of sales can be tough. It's easy to punch the air and feel great when you are winning, but there is incredible learning that occurs when you have your back to the wall and feel like sh@t. Being outside of your comfort zone is an opportunity to grow. Find something else about yourself you didn't know, build a level of resilience you didn't know existed. Embrace the negative patches in sales. It's what creates the opportunity to grow and learn to be the best you can be.

So next time you hit that low point. Ask yourself. How can I grow from this experience?

Welcome to Mindset Monday by the Sales IQ podcast. I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi and I'm here to help you be the best you can be. Everyone has a potential to be the best version of themselves there can be. Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on that awesomeness that is sitting dormant inside of you.

This podcast is about helping you unlock your potential by focusing on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.

Uh, man, he's got the product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes, and that's a message by Gandy. And what does that message my message for mindset Monday this week? But giving a lot of thought to the emotional ride that comes with selling. You've heard me say this time and time again. I love selling.

I think it's the best profession in the world. It's the profession that there is infinite possibilities. Do you have a path in front of you where anything is possible? Whatever you set your mind can be accomplished. It literally is an opportunity. You live in a world of abundance and we have a what's possible opportunity that sits in front of.

But the reality is that what's possible opportunity also can come with some real peaks and some real troughs. There are many highs and lows that you can experience in selling. And I'm not just talking about the lows of not achieving target, the lows of non-performance throughout my career. There has been a couple of times where.

I've struggled to get target, but one of the things that I've always, that's always been, been an absolute priority for me is making sure that I've had enough. I've had enough pipeline going to that. Non-performance not meeting target was never a challenge I had to overcome. The biggest challenge that I had to overcome was the consequence of the sales world.

Of not being able to hold back and relax with my work ethic because as we all know, there's a consequence, positive and negative with the actions that we take spending too much time at work. You're taking time away from somewhere else. He might not be spending much time with your family, your kids, or you on your health.

It's a whole variety of things that can be impacted. When we don't actually get that balance in life, but what do you do when you get to that point? When you are struggling, you're in that emotional ride and you are at that point of it's a challenge. Now, do you just keep throwing positive thoughts? Do you just keep throwing, trying to drown out the negativity with positivity?

Yes, it is a strategy. All. Do you actually think about what is it, what is it what's actually happening for me right now for this negative thought to surface? How do I actually own being in that negative mindset and accepting that, you know what, there is a challenge. I'm experiencing something that is causing me to have that negative mindset.

Because for me, whenever I do get to that below the law, To that, to that point of, you know, what, where I'm struggling. It's where I learn the most about me. It's where I really grow and become a better sales. Professional. Become a bit of dad, become a bit of friend. Now I can't talk about the things outside of sales because you know what, in my career, in my life, not everything has gone through.

But there is one thing that stayed constant in my sales career. And that is each time I hit that point where I thought, you know what? This is, this is a low point of being able to learn from it and, and really pull myself out and become a better sales professional as a result of it. Because for me, it's not about.

The feeling when you're at top or when you're achieving success or when deals just, you've got that momentum and things are just happening. Bang, bang, bang one after the other. For me. Yes. There's learning there. But the biggest learning is when things don't go to plan is when you find yourself with your back up against the wall and going, fuck, what do I do here?

I'm literally outside of my comfort zone. I don't know what this feeling means. I don't know why I'm feeling like this. Because for me, that's where I can actually really think about, okay, what does this mean? How do I learn from it? How do I get better as a result of being in his position? And that is my message this week.

It's the emotional ride of selling. Yes. For many, you know, there are some people out there they say, look, I don't, I don't suffer from that emotional ride of selling. I would challenge each and every one of you, that's listening to this particular episode right now that everybody has experienced the emotional ride of selling someone.

Doesn't get back to you. You've got that deal, you know, it's about to close. It's a sure thing. And then that's it. They ghost you what, we've all, we've all been there. And my message is wakey is embrace that emotional ride that comes with selling. That point where you think, you know what, this is tough. I'm struggling.

I am negative. I do have some negative thoughts creeping in. I am not thinking with a growth mindset right now. I'm thinking with a fixed mindset, embraced that opportunity. Take it, learn from it. Get better as a result of. Because that is how you're able to be the very best you can be.

If this is a message that resonated for you or someone, you know, needs to hear this, please like, rate share it because I create this content, I put this out there to help you be the very best you can be.
