"The only impossible journey is the one you never begin." -Tony Robbins

Taking a look around the post-Freedom Day gym this week, Luigi saw a lot of different people on a lot of different journeys. The one similarity? That in that moment they were all doing exactly the same thing: taking action to be the best they can be.

Today's social media bubbles make it incredibly easy play the comparison game and disqualify yourself before you're even out of the gate. This week, rather than comparing paths, zoom in just on your path. Reflect on the ways in which you're already a better you than you used to be, and focus on those next steps that will empower the future you to be better again. Then keep moving.

Welcome to Mindset Monday by the Sales IQ Podcast. I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi, and I'm here to help you be the best you can be. Everyone has a potential to be the best version of themselves they can be. Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on the awesomeness that's sitting dormant inside of you. This podcast is about helping you unlock that potential by focusing on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.

The only impossible journey is the one you never begin. And that is a quote by the famous Tony Robbins. And why is that my quote for this week? I've started back at the gym. It's been a long journey because of the, because of lockdowns, our gyms have been shot and finally they're open and it's been awesome. I've been back getting in there with a whole bunch of people, music pumping. It's an awesome environment to be part of. It's a great way to get your endorphins and make yourself feel really good that it takes something off the box and then tackle your day.

Now, recently I was in the gym and I was, I was actually really challenged. I was finding it really difficult to get through this particular workout. And I was looking around, I'd just have to take a breather. So I'm standing there looking around. I notice people, there was people, you know, at various stages of their journey. You know, what was awesome about that? I was observing and thinking, man, I feel cooked. I feel, I feel like I was just absolutely hammered.

And I said, I looked up, I saw some other people that were also feeling hammered. I saw some really fit people and I saw some people that were there, obviously taking action to improve their life and their health. And that triggered some thought for me. And the reality is we're all on a different journey.

And sometimes we compare our journey to others. Sometimes we think to ourselves, "Hey, I'm not where I want to be such and such is at X stage of their journey." But this is what's awesome about life. Doesn't matter how far you progress. If you're going to compare yourself to other people, there's always going to be somebody that's in front of you. There's always going to be somebody that you might not be at the same level as. But what really inspired me about that day and what's really helped me really think about the journey that I'm on is again, there are so many people that are taking action to be the best they can be.

The thing is it doesn't matter where you're at in the journey. What matters is taking action. What matters is actually accepting where you're at in the journey. And trying to take that first step to improve where you're at today.

And this is what I love about the sales profession. It doesn't matter how far you progress every month, every week, every quarter, it starts again. You have to do it all over again. It's essentially like Groundhog Day, but what's different is our ability to reflect. See what worked well, make an alteration, look at how I can improve and then make that positive step in the right direction.

And just like when you're training at the gym and you're feeling overwhelmed and you're cooked and you're like, man, I've got to do one more set. Sales can be a very similar feeling. You can think I've got to make that one call. I've got to get that one more deal. I'm fatigued. I'm a bit stressed. It's been a bit hard to get to this point, but I'm going to push through. I'm going to give it one more go. I'm going to try again and again and again.

And even when you do fail, even when you feel like you haven't achieved what you were trying to achieve, the awesome thing is there's always another set. You can give a go. You can always another opportunity for you to get up and do it again.

And that's my message for this week is don't worry about where you're at in the journey. Just remember you're on the journey. You're trying every day to be the best you can be. And that's the difference from a mindset perspective.

If you have the mindset of a very fixed mindset, where I've got no opportunity to improve, that I'm at the peak, the ceiling, I can't get any higher than your ability to grow and achieve an abundant opportunity that could sit in front of you is going to be limited.

But if you flip that mindset of thinking, if you look at it from a growth mindset and say, yeah, this is awesome. I've achieved some incredible stuff in this journey and I'm on a great path and I'm learning every single day. And I've got a great opportunity to continue to learn. The abundance mindset, the growth mindset, will allow you to keep growing every single day and build the skills that you've developed over a period of time.

And as the profession of selling and as marketing, because as a sales professional, you're also a marketer as the profession continues to evolve, so does the skills that are required to be successful in the profession. It doesn't matter how you're in this journey. You've only just begun. You're an apprentice. You have so much learning in front of you, that it should excite you every single day that every single day you can walk away going. I today I learned something new again.

For that, it's helped me improve my skills and take it again. Another 0.1 0.2, half a percent in the right direction, because this is the opportunity that the journey delivers. It delivers us the journey of learning to help us be the very best we can be. So if this is a message that's resonated for you or someone, you know, needs to hear it, please like rate and share this. I create this content to help you be the very best you can be.
